The Story Behind Every Can
Why we started Tango, why these flavors, and why every can has electrolytes.
OUR STORY
By athletes for athletes
Most of the beverages available to you after a hard effort aren't actually built for it. Sports drinks are loaded with sugar and artificial flavoring. Non-alcoholic beers still leave you bloated and don't give you anything back. Nothing on the shelf was made for someone who trained hard, is genuinely spent, and wants a real drink that helps them recover instead of undoing the work.
That's why we built Tango. Athletes who don't want to choose between what tastes good and what actually helps them recover. Real electrolytes at doses that do something, real flavor, no wellness-label ingredients that don't do anything at the amount used.
We started Tango because that moment deserved something built for it, not something repurposed for it.
WHY THESE FLAVORS
We Didn't Guess
Before we settled on our first two flavors, it took us 131 surveys and a whole lot of taste tests. Almost 9 in 10 said they'd buy it and that was all the validation we needed to help shape our first two flavors.
Jalapeño Lime Margarita
Margaritas are the most ordered cocktail in the country for a reason. We didn't try to re-invent the wheel. We kept the real lime forward flavor and added a little kick.
Watermelon Mint Mojito
A mojito is one of the most refreshing drinks on a hot day. So we asked: what's the only thing more refreshing? Watermelon. We put the two together to make a flavor that could fit in by the pool or after a run.
THE SCIENCE
Why Every Can Has Electrolytes
Each can carries 100mg of potassium and 15mg of magnesium. Potassium helps your muscles fire correctly and keeps the mind muscle connection alive. Magnesium supports muscle recovery and helps your body actually absorb the potassium you're taking in. Plus 54mg of Vitamin C, 60% of your daily value.
We also didn't pad the label with trendy add-ins that look good in a headline and do nothing at the dose they're actually used in. No proprietary blend hiding behind a made-up name, no ingredient because a competitor has it. If it's in the can, it's because the amount in it actually does something.
